Dan’s Visit to Heaven (Part 1 of 4: Angels)

I was honored this week to speak to Dan and hear firsthand his extraordinary account of visiting heaven and hell as a child. Part one describes how real angels look, not a fictional narrative contrived in the human imagination.

Not only do I believe his details are credible because they align with scripture, but his voice also carries the humility, reverence and the fear of the Lord one would expect upon such an encounter. He is a mentally stable, working professional who did not invent these details. This supernatural experience occurred to him at age eight but he is speaking of it as an adult in 2020. I’m concealing his identity to respect his privacy. There are more details to the entire account but I’m saving them for you to read directly from Dan and the book he’s writing. These highlights are to whet your appetite.

Jesus told him to “Tell everyone everything about me. Without borders, tell everyone everywhere.”

“When I was eight years old, I kept getting a yearning in my heart that I needed to go on a voyage somewhere. I didn’t know where it was coming from. I now know it came from God, but this was before I was saved. This impression on my heart informed me that I was going someplace I had never been before. It would come and go over time.

The angel took me up through the ceiling, then the roof of our house into the night sky. We travelled quite a distance. In heaven, we experience sights and sounds identically to how we receive them here. My hands and body were the same. I was barefooted wearing pajama bottoms. I felt the ground under my feet but when I pressed down hard, I couldn’t feel pain. I jammed my elbow on the ground as an experiment but still no pain!

I felt intense joy and bliss in heaven. I tried to make myself cry and be depressed but was unable to. I tried to think sad thoughts but they wouldn’t stay in my mind. The angel who escorted me there left me alone, saying “Don’t move an inch!” As I sat waiting, I heard a faint whoosh, whoosh – the flapping of wings and a distant voice. Then it got closer.

“Look at that – that’s a boy down there. How did he get here?”

Their wings sounded like helocopter rotors, scaring me. Imagine a mighty pressure wave with each wing beat, as if someone was slapping me. As they neared, I was so frightened that I curled up in a ball. The sound permeates everything.

They were beautiful angels, over six feet tall and appeared as if in their late twenties. These two sentries (guardian angels) were muscular with enormous white wings at least thirty-five feet wide. They wore white robes of a material resembling silk or satin that covered them head to toe.

Each had a gold belt and gold sword. Their swords were a golden flame, sheathed. (Psalm 104:4 Who makes His angels spirits, His ministers a flame of fire and Hebrews 1:7 – And of the angels He says: “Who makes His angels spirits and His ministers a flame of fire.”) It was as if the very power of God Himself was in their sword. You could feel it.

Their perfect faces, wavy hair, strength and powerful presence combined to make it hard to look at their beauty. It was almost painful to gaze upon that level of beauty.”

Dan’s Visit to Heaven Part 1 Angels

Dan proceeded to describe the mightiness and righteousness these heavenly beings possess. They are not fictional creatures as depicted on television or movies. I knew little about angelic appearance prior to hearing Dan’s description, writing about them only once in my post-Exposing Angels of Light. The two sentries saw his sin and wanted to expel him from heaven because it is all about righteousness in heaven.

Righteousness is not a word I hear often. Did you know there are 304 scriptures on the topic? Father God sent Jesus to die a gruesome death … according to Romans 3:22 … to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed, to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.

Abram believed in the Lord and God accounted it to him for righteousness (Genesis 15:6). The book of Malachi calls Jesus “the Sun of Righteousness”.

“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you,” Matthew 6:33 tells us. We are told to hunger and thirst for it and reminded we are blessed if persecuted for it.

Luke urges us to serve God without fear, “in holiness and righteousness all the days of our life.”

One role of the heavenly helper, Holy Spirit is to convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: of sin, because they do not believe in Me;  of righteousness, because I go to My Father and you see Me no more; of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged (John 16:8-10).

We must all desperately examine our hearts in light of this reminder that without salvation through Jesus alone, we will NOT be allowed into heavens bliss. Dan’s experience has shaken me in the best way, urging me to deeper prayer and personal holiness.

What about you?

  1. Kate I agree, and listening to what Dan had to say, about his experience as an eight-year-old and now sharing as an adult. It is exciting to hear of his experience and his testimony.
I have heard of testimonies like this but never known anyone personally to have had this experience. I’ve Known Dan and have known him since he was in high school. I believe his experience is real and transforming.
