Found this video of a lamb rescue in Scotland.
Watch it and then come back to finish this article, Okay?
Seeing Kate tenderly wrap that lamb in towels made me think of the times my Jesus rescued me from danger. She braved freezing water to help a helpless one. Not because she owned him, but she was moved by his plight.
How much more than human compassion is the compassion of God toward us?
He brought me out into a broad place; he rescued me, because he delighted in me (Psalm 18:19 ESV).
Stretch out your hand from on high; rescue me and deliver me from the many waters, from the hand of foreigners (Psalm 144:7 ESV).
God loves you deeply, my friend.
Jesus knows that you did not intentionally step over that cliff to send yourself smashing against the rocky place that you find yourself in. He will send someone to help, someone to wrap you in the goodness of their love and nurse you back to health until you can walk in your own strength.
You are His lamb, the sheep of His pasture and He is the Good Shepherd.
Let’s give thanks together for His constant care and steady intervention in our lives.
Do you have a story of a time God rescued you? I’d like to hear about it.
