Your Love is Still a Mystery

“I don’t know how to say exactly how I feel. I can’t begin to tell you what Your love has meant. I long for words.

Is there a way … to show the passion in my heart?

Can I express how truly great I think you are?

My dearest friend … Lord, this is my desire … to pour my love on You. Like oil upon Your feet, like wine for You to drink, like water from my heart I pour my love on You. If praise is like perfume, I lavish mine on You, til every drop is gone. I Pour my love on You.” (PC&D, Pour My Love on You)

I pour my love on you, Jesus.

Phillips, Craig & Dean (formed in 1991) is a harmony-rich American contemporary Christian music trio. I had the joy of hearing them sing live about eleven years ago at New Life Fellowship in Titusville, FL. They’ve been one of my favorite artists since. This morning, I’ve compiled previously separate song verses from their Let My Words Be Few CD into one new worship love post. True worship is from the heart, the style and tradition really doesn’t matter to God. I hope these lyrics inspire you to turn on your favorite worship music and sing your heart out in thanksgiving to God this thanksgiving week. We have SO MUCH to be grateful for!

“Come, now is the time to worship. Come, now is the time to give your heart. Come, just as you are to worship. Come, just as you are … before your God. Come!”

“When the music fades and all is stripped away … and I simply come only just to bring something that’s of worth that will bless Your heart.”

“I’ll bring You more than a song. For a song in itself is not what You have required. You search much deeper within than the way things appear. You’re looking into my heart. I’m coming back to the heart of worship – cause it’s all about You, Jesus. It’s all about You!”

“King of endless worth, no one could express how much You deserve. Though I’m weak and poor, all I have is Yours, every single breath.”

“How great You are, how small I am, how awesome is Your mighty plan. I’m captured by the wonder of it all … I will offer all my praise with all my heart for all my days. How great You are, how great You are, how great You are!”

“My faithful Father, enduring friend, Your tender mercies like a river with no end. It overwhelms me. Each time I come into Your presence, I stand in wonder once again. Your grace still amazes me, Your love is still a mystery. Each day … I fall on my knees, cause Your grace still amazes me.”

PS: Thank you, Jeremy, Tiffany and the entire worship team of Freedom Christian Center for reminding me last Sunday how well Phillips Craig & Dean express what I long to say to Jesus. I love your hearts!

  1. I am currently studying the book of Revelation (through Bible Study Fellowship.) We just finished up the study of God’s Throne Room in heaven and what worship in heaven looks like. As you go deep into that picture, you can’t help but be changed today with a heart that overflows abundantly with more love for God.

Your post is a great summary for what I just finished studying. One of the BSF summaries was, “Music is the language of the heart. Music expresses the inexpressible.”
