The Father has been speaking to me lately about His fire, specifically the fire of His love.
Not the fire of judgment, but the ever consuming, blazing passion that is the heart of God (Hebrews 12:29).
His message came via a dream of a massive fireplace embedded in the ceiling of the living room of an apartment that my husband and I planned to occupy. Massive, a ginormous stone fireplace was literally suspended over my head. It went upward so far I could not see the extent. The width was huge. I gazed in awe at red-hot, glowing eight-inch coals embedded along each edge. The fire itself burned in the center as if alive. I heard the crackle, felt the heat while standing transfixed at the wonder of it.
There is more to the dream but I focus on this aspect because the message Abba is communicating right now is: Our God is a consuming fire, holy, pure and zealous.
He wants us … you, me and His entire Body to be set aflame with this zeal so that zeal for Him and His house consume us.
Fasten me upon your heart as a seal of fire forevermore.
This living, consuming flame
will seal you as my prisoner of love.
My passion is stronger than the chains of death and the grave,
all consuming as the very flashes of fire
from the burning heart of God.
Place this fierce, unrelenting fire over your entire being.
Rivers of pain and persecution will never extinguish this flame.
Endless floods will be unable
to quench this raging fire that burns within you.
Everything will be consumed.
It will stop at nothing as you yield everything to this furious fire
until it won’t even seem to you like a sacrifice anymore.Song of Solomon 8:6-7 TPT
In the process of spring cleaning today, I came across a video teaching I gave on this very topic eight years ago. It amazed me as I had totally forgotten the aspect of fire it contained.
I posted the teaching today on my Healing Writer Youtube channel for your benefit. The links are God’s Fireplace part 1,
and God’s Fireplace part 3 by Kathryne Leach.
It seems John E. Thomas has a similar theme on his heart. “Set a fire in my soul, make my life burn, and send me out among the dry wood and weeds in the church and the world until the fire spreads and consumes all that is flesh so that new life can come. Make me a wildfire that burns for heaven consuming all that is earthly. I am Yours God and You are mine. Burn in me with an everlasting flame, God!”
I am curious if any of you are hearing messages concerning the blazing fire of His love?

I absolutely love considering and focusing on the many powerful ways God’s love is shown to us, in particular an all consuming fire that purifies us. It lights our way, it purifies, it guides, it reminds us that He is God, no less. It absolutely refuses to be contained or managed. Can you tell you hit a chord?

Right with you, Julieanne. I’m fascinated by my fireplace dream and all its implications. Enough material to keep me pondering Him awhile. Thanks for following!

I like the fireplace analogy to God’s passion….(by the way, I did watch some of the video. Your face reminds me of your mom’s face–minus the dark hair and perm though!)
