Man on Fiery Steed Dream

Ever have a dream so vivid that you awaken afraid?

Yes, nightmares will scare the heck out of us, but I’m talking a dream you cannot shake. Getting out of bed and going about your day is not enough. Visual images that demand a response.

In September, 2014 I had a dream like that.  I dreamt that the Lord Jesus came riding across the land on a fiery white steed.

In my dream, I was watching a literal event. As I stood outside watching the sky and land, I saw Him approach. He appeared as a huge, ‘cloud shaped like a man’ on horseback. He was so bright, yet clearly defined so I knew it was King Jesus.

As he passed, flames enveloped his back and He uttered a deep, loud roar. I cannot recall His words but he was talking. Speaking to all who wanted to hear. As He passed me, I was so afraid, shaking with the fear of Lord that I shut my eyes, froze and waited to burn up.

He galloped up close, His horse snorting while He spoke in a normal tone. I can’t remember any of His words because I was simply relieved to be alive!

Dream Interpretation

Since then I’ve pondered its meaning and all I have extracted to date has been that I will prophetically discern the spiritual times and seasons, (Daniel 2:21 and 1 Chronicles 12:32 – the sons of Issachar, men who understood the times, with knowledge of what Israel should do) and recognize God’s movements in the earth. This in itself is fantastic, but I know there is more. There is always more to spiritual dreams and we need other members of the Body of Christ to help us correctly interpret. It is our interdependence as a Body in which our safety lies. The dream deposited the fear of the Lord deep within my heart, which was an answer to prayer. I had been asking to be shaken and have my reverential awe restored.

The presence of the fire is purely scriptural as seen in Revelation 19:11:

I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice He judges and wages war. His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself. He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God. The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. Coming out of his mouth is a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. He will rule them with an iron scepter. He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty. On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.

So I feel the message is that Jesus Christ is soon coming back to earth in fiery judgment against wickedness and to instill the reverential fear of the Lord into humanity once again.

God will wage war upon injustice, not against His children. He will war FOR us, not against us. There is evil in the earth that only He can purge. If you are not right with God, now is a great time to rectify that.

The other scriptures this dream brought to mind are: Psalm 18:7-15 (see comments) and Hebrews 12:28-29 “Since we are receiving a Kingdom that is unshakable, let us be thankful and please God by worshiping him with holy fear and awe. For our God is a devouring fire“.

I chose this as my first entry for 2015 because I sense the Holy Spirit reminding us of the severity of the hour, the need to measure our days and ramp up our prayer times. Come quickly, Lord Jesus. The Spirit and the Bride say, “Come.”  If you have further insight into my dream, I’d love to hear from you.

  1. This is the verse the Holy Spirit originally highlighted back in Sept 2014 to support this dream.
Psalm 18: 7-15 ESV Then the earth reeled and rocked; the foundations also of the mountains trembled and quaked, because he was angry. Smoke went up from his nostrils, and devouring fire from his mouth; glowing coals flamed forth from him.

He bowed the heavens and came down;thick darkness was under his feet.
He rode on a cherub and flew; he came swiftly on the wings of the wind.
He made darkness his covering, his canopy around him, thick clouds dark with water.
Out of the brightness before him hailstones and coals of fire broke through his clouds.

The LORD also thundered in the heavens, and the Most High uttered his voice, hailstones and coals of fire.
And he sent out his arrows and scattered them; he flashed forth lightning’s and routed them.
Then the channels of the sea were seen, and the foundations of the world were laid bare
at your rebuke, O LORD, at the blast of the breath of Your nostrils.

  3. Yes, it does sound like a very powerful dream, the kind we have read about in the Bible. It’s a great message to relate especially at the beginning of a new year. Great job on the pix too!
